About this concert
Mustard Plug started out in the punk clubs, basements and dive bars of the Midwest, playing punk-influenced ska music before most people in the U.S. had ever heard of ska. They've clung to a DIY work ethic that has been ingrained in them since growing up in the 1980′s hardcore scene. 1500+ shows and 200,000+ album sales later, it cannot be denied that the band has surpassed all expectations and permanently staked their claim in contemporary music. The Prizefighters have honed their reggae bona fides, having teamed up with heavy hitters of '60s Jamaica, playing as the backing band for artists such as the “King of Ska” Derrick Morgan, legendary duet partners Stranger Cole & Patsy Todd and Roy Panton & Yvonne Harrison, and most notably harmonica player and vocalist Charlie Organaire, whose playing can be heard on hundreds of early Jamaican ska and rocksteady hits. The Prizefighters and Charlie Organaire released a trio of 45rpm singles on Jump Up! Records, and toured Europe together in support of Charlie Organaire Meets the Prizefighters. Punch Up is The Prizefighters’ third full length LP released on Jump Up! Records, following 2010’s Follow My Sound and 2019’s Firewalk. Stacked Like Pancakes (SLP) is an energetic ska/punk band that formed in 2007 just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. The band was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Kellen McKay, who envisioned a musical project that fused together elements of ska, punk rock, and alternative genres. The name "Stacked Like Pancakes" itself reflects their playful and eclectic approach to music, drawing inspiration from the band's desire to create a sound that was as dynamic and diverse as their influences. SLP is currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From their inception, Stacked Like Pancakes set out to defy conventional genre boundaries. Their music incorporates brass instruments like trombone and trumpet, alongside traditional rock instrumentation, resulting in a vibrant and distinctive sound. The band's early releases, including their debut album "We're Not Insane" (2011) and subsequent albums like "This Is Us" (2015) and "Strange Creatures" (2019), showcased their evolution and growth. They champion their fan base as their “record label,” in that every album was crowd-funded for a combined $130,000 from fans and supporters around the world. Stacked Like Pancakes is known for high-energy live performances and infectious melodies, carrying the energy to the Vans Warped Tour in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019. One of their most notable national tours was with Reel Big Fish in 2016 and Save Ferris in 2017, both of which laid the foundation for creating fans around the country.

Stacked Like Pancakes Biography

Stacked Like Pancakes (SLP) is a hugely energetic ska-punk/rock band.
Beginning in 2007, Stacked Like Pancakes was founded on an idolization of artists like Reel Big Fish,
Streetlight Manifesto, and Less Than Jake. Following the 2011 debut ska album We’re Not Insane, SLP
has since proven to maintain a thick sonic texture through a synthesis of inspirations including Reel Big
Fish, Less Than Jake, Blink-182, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Cage the Elephant, twenty one pilots, and an
untraceable amount of other artists and genres.
Stacked Like Pancakes found their niche in music festivals beginning with a supporting role opening for
Kid Cudi at Towson University’s Tigerfest in 2012. In 2014, SLP won the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands
competition, earning their first appearance on the Vans Warped Tour. The following year began with a
sold out Baltimore show for their fan-funded 2015 sophomore album entitled THIS IS US.
The invitation to return to the Warped Tour sparked a love for the road. During this stretch of time, SLP
embarked on several self-booked headlining tours, and in 2016 hit the road on their first official
nation-wide tour with ska idols Reel Big Fish.
On the anniversary of Election Day for the 45th President of the United States in 2017, SLP released a
triumphant new song called “45” with a poignant feature on Alternative Press.
The Pancake Nation community fanbase is hungry for their band to grow. Their unwavering support
includes three successful crowdfunded albums. The most recent of which raised over $100,000 to work
with multi-platinum record producer Matt Squire for the release of Strange Creatures in 2019.
Concert venues and music patrons alike should be prepared for the stage to shake, the crowd to be wild
and unpredictable, and the show to be a deliberate fusion of spontaneity and precision. Stacked Like
Pancakes epitomizes a tough DIY band despite a meaningless band name, and are rightfully on the rise to
claim an international stage of their own.
